The Goodbye Post

It's hard to believe that another semester has passed us by. This one is particularly hard because I am finishing one of my favorite courses in YU..... Excel for business. I have learnt so much and gained so much knoweldge in this class. I have learnt many things from new formulas and functions, to tables and charts. Some of the great formulas I learnt were the: SumIF, AvgIF, CountIF, NestedIF, DSum, Daverage, and the Vlookup. I also learnt how to work pivot tables, conditional formatting, and to use the filter. The big thing we tackled was MACROS. This is such a great and uselful tool that I was waiting all semester to learn it. I don't always say this, but everything I learnt in this class helped me personally and professionaly. I was working on a couple of school projects and my knoweldge of Excel helped me do a good job on them. Even though unfortunatly I did not get a summer job, whenever I was talking to a potential employer, if they asked what can I do on excel they were impressed with all the different functions I can do. So whenever I do get a job I am sure that my new found skills will help me out.
Talking about new found skills, before taking the class I was unfamilar with excel. I knew some of the basic tools like the regular auto sum functions and how to change the color of a chart or table. But other than that I didn't know didlly squat. I liked my work ethic in the class, during class I followed instructions and did the inclass projects. When it came to the out of class case graders, I never fell to far behind, and usually did them as soon as they were assigned. My grades were high, because of the great teaching that you did.
Speaking of the teaching, Professor, I can not thank you enough for all that you have done for me. I don't think you even know how much of a role model you are for not only me, but many other students here in YU. I feel privlidged to have taken you for not only MIS, but for Excel too. The way you treat every single human being with respect and look at everyone as equals and nothing else, has ment so much to me. Don't think I didn't already look up to, because of what I have learnt from you in class. Also I would to say that all of YU is sad to see you go and I would like to thank you for giving all that you have to the YU community. It has been an honor to be in your last class, and last final ever in YU. You will be missed by everyone
All in All professor, Thank you for being such a great teacher and professor
